Fifteen Minutes of Fame

My kids are the greatest! We went to All-Star tonight for pizza, calzones, and bouncing. We had only been there for about twenty minutes when Mike got called into work. We knew he was getting called in but we thought it would be later. We thought to take two vehicles just in case the call came early, but we didn't. Seriously, someone should take our parenting licenses away.

So we told the kids it was time to go and they trotted out to the car with us as happy as they could be. They were totally happy with the bounce time they did get and were fine with waiting until we got home to eat. How did we get so lucky?!

Not only are my kids just wonderful, they are both superstars! Noah's art work from Mrs. K's class was entered at the fair and he won First Place! (We didn't know his work had been submitted and we didn't even know he won until his blue ribbon arrived home in his backpack. And to top that off, we didn't even go the the fair this year. Yeah, come and get our licenses now!) So here's our little man showing off his First Place art!

This last one is a little blurry, but Noah is so dang cute, I had to include it.

We also have exciting news to share in the bunny world. She does make appearances in the new Signing Time videos! In A New Day:Volume 3, you can see her at:

9:03 - wearing a hat in the Sunny Day segment
11:47 - with sunglasses in the Sky segment
15:15 - pulling a leaf in the Leaf segment

In Let's Be Friends:Volume4, she is drinking from her cup at the end of the Juice segment. It's a quick shot at 17:13. The bunny isn't signing in any of her appearances, but I still think it's so cool she was a part of the process and we can see her several times. Unfortunately, her name isn't mentioned as one of the signers at the end of the videos, but she is signing in the tribute video. She appears at 0:58 and is signing, "sad."

Signing Time was really generous to send us the videos and the accompanying music CDs. AND, Rachel signed one of the DVDs!

I'm so proud of my wonderful, superstar kidlets! How did we get so lucky?!

The Bunny Says Quack?

She's been requesting Baby Neptune for the bedtime movie and she likes to quack along.

A Bunny Request

"Mommy, let's go shopping and buy a Yo Yo Gabba Puzzle. Let's go!"

Ever since Grandpa & Grandma Harvey bought the bunny a nine-piece wooden Dora puzzle last May, the bunny has been crazy for jigsaws! We had been playing with wooden puzzles for quite some time - the kind where one shape fits into only one slot. It didn't occur to me to see if she could do any other kind.

Fast-forward to July and the bunny is working twenty-four piece jigsaw puzzles without using the picture on the box as a reference. By herself. She doesn't want anyone to help and if you try, you get an earful. "It's not your turn to play the puzzle, it's Jordan's turn!"

For our trip to PC for Mike's reunion, I bought the bunny two new puzzles and it wasn't long before she was combining the pieces then solving both simultaneously. I got her a two-sided puzzle, thinking it would stump her. It did. For about thirty minutes.

So now I'm looking for more challenging puzzles. I'm thinking we need something more than twenty-four pieces but fewer than fifty pieces. If any of you see puzzles that would fit this criteria, please let me know where to find it. And if the Yo Gabba Gabba characters are on it, that would be a bonus!

I'm having issues with my Yahoo 360 world, so I've decided to move back to Blogger. I do have all my content stored here for your reminiscing pleasure.

Bear with my construction dust as I settle into this new home and play around with the features and basically arrange and rearrange until I can't see straight.

Before I get back to it, I wanted to share a milestone moment with Noah. Yesterday, the bunny was finishing her snack in the kitchen with the gates closed. When she was done, she let herself out the doggy door to play on the screened patio. Of course Noah noticed this and pulled on my hand. I knew what he wanted, but I asked anyway, "What do you want? Tell me." Noah replied, "Tell me. Go, play outside."

Do you need a moment to re-read? Are you smiling as big as I am? I do believe this may be the first conversation I've had with Noah where I didn't just prompt him to repeat me. He actually verbally expressed a desire with words of his choosing. Little step, yes. Insignificant, no way! I'm so happy and proud of my boy!
